Michael W. Stewart

Mr. Stewart has broad experience in the medical device and biopharmaceutical sector and has held positions as VP Research, VP Drug Development, Senior VP Operations and most recently Chief Operating Officer.  He has over 35 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and is an inventor on several issued patents including IMB’s intellectual property.  Mr. Stewart is a member of the American Society of Hematology and is Industry Representative for the Medical Laboratory Student Program at the University of Alberta.  Mr. Stewart is an adjunct professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at the University of Alberta.

 

Dr. Irwin Griffith

Dr. Griffith has over twenty years experience in biotechnology, developing therapeutic products and medical devices for the treatment of human disease conditions.  He has had multiple positions in three different companies with ever-increasing responsibilities and acquired extensive hands-on experience in creating, managing and leading highly productive and effective teams in product development, discovery research, preclinical toxicology, manufacturing, business development and product commercialization.  He has held Executive positions in project management, business development and product development.  Dr. Griffith is an adjunct professor in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Alberta.  Dr. Griffith has dual citizenship in Canada and the US.

 

Jean-Paul Laurin

Mr. Laurin brings to IMB 15 years experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device industries, 10 of which have been spent in Business Development roles. His experience includes national and international product licensing, development and manufacturing agreements, as well as mergers, acquisitions and initial public offerings. Mr. Laurin has a B.Comm and M.Sc. degree from Concordia University in Montreal Canada.
